When you think of the Village, what do you think of?
Do you get images of a tribal community where everyone lives nearby in huts and you can walk to your neighbors and hang out whenever you want?
Do you imagine children running barefoot and all the women caring for the home?
What if we haven't lost the village?
what if the village is evolving and we are still trying to navigate what that looks like and how to nurture it in our own lives?
What if it is just more difficult to find a genuine village of women through the materialist modern world of shopping, expensive homes and gossip culture?
What if motherhood is the new catalyst for reclaiming the village in our modern culture?
The feminist movement of the 60's brought a new level of female motivation and passions, but we also lost a lot throughout the time of feminism as well.
We lost authentic womanhood.
We lost the deep connection with feminine wisdom and our ancestral wise women.
Being a mother isn't the problem.
It isn't a waste of your skills or a demeaning role to be a mother.
The issue is with the way relationships were transactional and women were often seen as property and a means of making a family, and men offered status and financial stability.
Our consciousness is evolving.
What we expect from relationships, partnership, and life in general is expanding with each generation.
Along with this, the village will evolve as well.
Our lives are carrying new purpose, integrity and obligations, and a long with that will also come a need for different kinds of support.
Our evolving planet isn't JUST about survival and reproduction and status anymore.
We are seeking more.
A greater purpose beyond materialism and just "getting by"
Our village is something we are learning to create alongside this shift in consciousness.
It's playgroups, and coffee dates, and homeschool meetups, and meal trains.
It's seeing the gaps in our current culture and seeing where we can be of greater service to those around us, NOT putting everything to the online world and finding false community support on social media.
Real life tribes are where we evolve together.
It's where we bring the authentic support and healing person to person.
So get off your phone and come back to your local community and see where the gaps are showing in YOUR village.
And think about how YOU can help reclaim and rebuild and new Village.
A new Village rooted in the values and knowledge of the modern world.
We don't need to erase everything modern and go back to living in the woods in order to reclaim the village that is sitting right in front of us.
Imagine something greater, and build it!
